It was really good to be able to be back in the Salle on Sunday. We enjoyed the opportunity to worship together and although in masks it felt reassuring and definitely a step towards normality. Let us pray that everyone observes the rules and we are able to continue in this way. It was a pleasure to welcome our Warden Janet Lageveen to our service. She gave us an update on the AGM and informed everyone that the elected members of the Christ Church Brittany Chaplaincy Council representing Rostrenen are:- Alfred Adgey, Graham Lissaman and myself, Linda Doidge
She advised that any concerns or ideas that you think should be raised in council should be shared with any one of us.
Sunday Service 13th September
The service this Sunday will be Holy Communion in the Chapel at 10.30 am
As we are now used to the seating arrangements and Covid protocol it is no longer necessary to pre book unless you have a special request to sit at the front or whatever, in which case seats will be reserved for you.
Bible Study Returns!!
After the success of our last study Revd Joy will be leading a 10 week course on Zoom starting this Friday 11th September at 10am.
Revd Joy is preparing a study to include the characters from the lead up to Christmas ranging from Isaiah to the shepherds. Revd Joy spoke about this on Sunday and explained that each week is a unit in itself so if you have to miss a week you don’t have to ‘catch up’. If you are interested in joining the study please let me know so I can send further details and Zoom invitations rather than filling everyone’s inbox with emails.
Our Church Newsletter for September is online,
Contributions for the October edition will be accepted by Alfred up to Saturday September 19th.
Central Brittany Journal
If you do not usually buy the Journal you may like to know that there is an article written by Pastor Robin in the September issue together with a photo of some familiar worshippers from Rostrenen. We look like a jolly crowd even in our masks!!
Rostrenen Coffee Morning
Now that we have returned to weekly services we will no longer be having a weekly coffee morning but, as we have found Zoom and found it a great way of keeping in touch with everyone, I will be sending out a monthly invitation and hope it will be a good way of keeping in touch with those not attending services and those in the UK and further afield. All our members are greatly valued and it is good to keep in touch.
Wishing you all a good week.
